Accessibility

Meeting people should not depend on how well you see a screen, how steadily you use a mouse, or whether you can hear the audio.
The standard we work to
Aligned Hearts aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, across this website and our iOS and Android apps.
In practice that means:
- Text that meets contrast requirements against its background
- Everything reachable and operable by keyboard alone
- Proper labelling so screen readers announce things correctly
- Captions on video
- Text that can be resized to 200% without breaking the layout
- Forms with clear labels and error messages that explain what to fix
- Respect for your system's reduced-motion setting
- Touch targets large enough to hit reliably
Where we currently fall short
Honesty is more useful than a badge, so:
- Some older event photography does not yet have descriptive alternative text. We are working backward through the archive.
- Video content added before September 2026 may have automatically generated captions rather than reviewed ones.
- We test with VoiceOver, TalkBack and NVDA. We do not yet test with every assistive technology in use.
Tell us when we have got it wrong
This is the part we actually want. If something on this site or in the app is difficult or impossible for you to use, email hello@alignedhearts.com with "Accessibility" in the subject line. Tell us what you were trying to do, what got in the way, and what you are using.
We reply within two business days and we will tell you honestly whether it is a quick fix or a longer one.
If you cannot complete something because of an accessibility barrier, we will do it with you. Booking a session, buying a ticket, joining an event — email us and a person will handle it directly rather than leaving you stuck behind an interface.
Third-party components
Some parts of the service rely on third parties, including payment processing. We have chosen providers with accessibility commitments, but we do not control their interfaces. If one of them is the barrier, tell us anyway — we will help you through it and raise it with them.
Reviews
We review this statement and re-test the service at least annually, and after any significant redesign. Last reviewed September 2026.
